Shirt of Flame by Heather King -Book 28

Shirt of Flame is the third book I've read by Heather King. She never fails to deliver! This is a profound journal of one year of her life, living in Koreatown in Los Angeles as a struggling, divorced, middle-aged writer who also happens to be in love with God and has adopted St. Therese of Lisieux as her muse. This book is so well written. King is a really gifted author who found her voice later in life than most and is making up for it! She is also a deeply intelligent and an honest observer of the human condition in our time, who can bridge the gap between the secular lost souls of today and the wisdom and piety of yesterday, especially in the voice of St. Therese of Lisieux. She is truly a gift from God.

 I've read her book Parched, about her years struggling with alcoholism, her next book, Redeemed, about her slow conversation to Catholicism and now this book, about trying to live out that conversion.
